Find success on your own terms or what it means to you to be successful. Success is not a one-size-fits-all thing.

You have to find your own version of success, and who cares if it’s not what other people want or think is success?

If you love what you do, you are successful in my book. It also doesn’t matter what other people think. If you’re happy with the work you put in and the content you’re putting out into the world, then that is the definition of success. Or say you’re happy with your success or how much you’re putting out into the world. I encourage you to find your own version of success. Who gives two shits what anyone else thinks?

For example, as Station Manager for Voices TV at Landmark College, my job genuinely makes me happy. I get to interact with other students in the TV studio, and it has genuinely made me fall in love with the TV industry. Since I’m going for my A.A. in Business Studies at LC (Landmark College), it allows me to pursue an array of jobs. Once I get my bachelor’s in Media Arts Production, or I may go somewhere to get a B.A. in Business somewhere else or here, I will have options.

In a dream world (pun intended), I was on an interview for the Disney College Program. I scheduled and sent an email to some contacts at Disney to thank her for the interview, as this is common practice since I did not have her direct email. I am starting to find my own version of success.

Also, was I destined to work in media from the start? After all, my uncle owns Milestone TV based in NY. My uncle also has somewhat of an atypical path from TV producer to NYC bread baker.

A question I have is, where do I go from here? Working for Universal Studios would be a dream, and it would help my case if I got into and participated in the DCP, as some people get job offers to come back. I could work my way up to my dream job of executive producer for Universal Studios.

Before my DCP interview, I was listening to Disney music, and while writing this, I am listening to the Wicked soundtrack. Also, Disney has a feeling. Their goal is to make people happy and contribute to creating magic. Who wouldn’t want to contribute to the happiness of Disney?
